Nino Gavtadze - Isev


Born and raised in Tblisi, Nino Gvetadze completed her first course of study at the Conservatory there, before going to the Netherlands where she studied with Paul Komen and Jan Wijn. She has since performed with the country’s most renowned orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestras, The Hague Residence Orchestra and the Holland Symphonia. Among the conductors she has worked with are Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Michel Plasson and John Axelrod. In Bayreuth, Nino Gvetadze played the grand piano that once belonged to Franz Liszt, and on Dutch television she performed on the grand piano that once belonged to Vladimir Horowitz. In 2009, she recorded a solo CD of Modest Mussorgsky’s entire piano oeuvre; with her violin partner Frederieke Saeijs she recently released a recording of the violin sonatas by Carl Maria von Webers. In 2008, Nino Gvetadze won 2nd prize at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition.
