Deanery - Monthlong Sundays

Deanery is a Filipino new wave, post-punk band from Cebu City. Formed in 2006 by Julius Caesar Camota (vocals/guitars) and Luigi Inaki Cabalde (guitars) offering their own cover renditions from post punk revivalists The Strokes, Interpol, and Franz Ferdinand. A couple of years later, they took a new path and wrote their own music with a new line up, Carlo Miguel Cavalida (drums) and Amy Karen Ramos (bass).

Deanery connotes to the group of parishes presided by a rural dean. Since their members' influences were different, having Julius and Luigi into New wave/post-punk, Amy whose into Alterative, rock and roll-blues and Carlo with Nu Metal. The name Deanery correlates how the band agreed on what sound to make. The band released their first single “Whats better than never” last May 2010 and gained recognition when it was being aired on several radio stations. And on August 2011, they then released an EP called “Deanery… And What We are Now”..
